SAN FRANCISCO, July 2, 2007—Genstar Capital, LLC, a middle market private equity firm that focuses on investments in selected segments of life science and healthcare services, industrial technology, business services and software, today announced the appointment of George T. Shaheen to the firm’s Strategic Advisory Board. Mr. Shaheen had previously served as CEO of Siebel Systems and Andersen Consulting.

Mr. Shaheen was the Chief Executive Officer of Siebel Systems, Inc. from April 2005 to January 2006. Prior to that he spent over 30 years with Andersen Consulting (which later became Accenture), becoming a partner in 1977 and from 1989 to 1999 was Chief Executive Officer and Global Managing Partner. He later became the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Webvan Group, Inc. and the Chief Executive Officer of Siebel Systems. He also serves on the boards of Network Appliance, think3, 24/7 Customer, newScale and Theranos and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Marcus & Millichap Company.
Mr. Shaheen has served as an IT Governor of the World Economic Forum and he is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and he has served on the Board of Trustees of Bradley University. Mr. Shaheen received a B.S. degree and an M.B.A. from Bradley University.
