Mark D. Hanson
Managing Director
Mark D. Hanson is a Managing Director of Genstar Capital LLC, responsible for expanding Genstar’s Business Services and Software practice by leveraging his more than twenty years in the industry. Prior to joining Genstar, Mark most recently served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Development and Chief of Staff for Siebel Systems, Inc., where he worked closely with the executive team to help Siebel return to growth in 2005. He was responsible for building the M&A function at Siebel and during his tenure the company made 17 acquisitions.
Prior to that, Mark was President and Chief Operating Officer of Visigenic Software, Inc., where he helped build the company from a startup entity with no revenues through its IPO and sale to Borland Software Corporation. Mark has also worked as a senior executive with other leading software companies, including Sybase, Inc., Macromedia, Inc., and Informix Software, Inc.
Mark is a graduate of Santa Clara University and received his MBA degree from Golden Gate University. He is a Director of Netsmart Technologies, Inc., ConvergeOne, Inc. and TravelCLICK, Inc.
