Operating Partners/Executives
Working with talented operating executives has been a key principle to Genstar
Capital’s investment strategy for over 20 years. Genstar Capital’s Operating
Partners and Operating Executives have significant hands-on experience working
in their respective industries, and bring to Genstar Capital an immense amount
of knowledge and expertise in building industry-leading companies. Our Operating
Partners and Operating Executives assist the firm’s investment professionals in
all aspects of the investment process, including investment thesis generation,
due diligence and participating on portfolio company boards.
Mr. Carpenter is an Operating Partner and also serves on Genstar
Capital’s Strategic Advisory Board to advise the firm in the area of
industrial technology. Previously, Mr. Carpenter served as President and
CEO of Barnes Group (NYSE: B) and as Chairman and CEO of General Signal
Corporation. Mr. Carpenter serves as a Director of MW Industries, Inc.
Mr. Clark is an Operating Partner and also serves on Genstar’s Strategic Advisory Board to advise the firm in the area of life sciences. Previously, Mr. Clark served as Director, CEO and President of ICOS Corporation. Mr. Clark has additionally held senior positions at Abbott Laboratories, Marion Laboratories and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Clark serves as a Director of Catalent Pharma Solutions.
Mr. Park is an Operating Executive working with Genstar Capital to
advise the firm in the area of financial services, with specific focus
on payment processing. Prior to joining Genstar Capital, he was CEO &
Co-Founder of WildCard Systems, Inc., the global market leader in
prepaid payment solutions (acquired by eFunds, now Fidelity National,
NYSE: FIS). Mr. Park serves as a Director of Evolution1, Inc.
Mr. Sheehy is an Operating Partner and also serves on Genstar Capital’s Strategic Advisory Board to advise the firm in the area of healthcare services. From 1986 to 2008, Mr. Sheehy served with UnitedHealth Group in a number of senior positions, and became CEO of UnitedHealthcare in 2000. In 2007, Mr. Sheehy became Senior Vice President of UnitedHealth Group. Mr. Sheehy serves as a Director of Univita Health, Inc.
and Evolution1, Inc.
Mr. Strong is an Operating Executive working with Genstar Capital to advise the firm in the area of financial services, with specific focus on asset management, wealth management and financial technology. Previously, Mr. Strong was Vice Chairman of Russell Investments, where he helped build Russell into a global investment company with over $150 billion in assets under management.
