Alan Fortier

Alan Fortier is a member of Genstar’s Strategic Advisory Board and advises the firm in its industrials sector.

For over 30 years Alan has been President of Fortier & Associates, a consulting firm that’s helped hundreds of industrial companies globally increase profits via aggressive growth and pricing strategies. His track record for helping businesses exceed profit targets is nearly 100%, often by 2-3x. Alan leverages his deep manufacturing and distribution experience in helping Genstar’s industrials sector companies improve growth and profit performance. He also helps evaluate potential upside for possible acquisitions.

Since 2007 Alan has also served as a Director for Graham Corporation (GHM), a manufacturer of engineered equipment to refineries, chemical plants and the U.S. Navy, where he has served on their Audit, Compensation and Nominating & Governance committees. In addition, from 2007–2016 Alan was a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School’s MBA and Executive Education programs on pricing and business strategy. Prior to forming Fortier & Associates over 30 years ago, Alan was a manager at a McKinsey spinoff, and before that was a project manager at DuPont.
