David has over three decades of experience building cloud software companies as an executive, entrepreneur, board member, and investor.
David works at Salesforce as President and Chief Product Officer, responsible for the company’s global product team, strategy, and vision.
Prior to Salesforce, he worked as the CEO and Founder at Vlocity — a three-time Forbes Cloud 100 company (2017, 2018, 2019). Vlocity grew from a startup to a global company of over 1,000 employees and was acquired by Salesforce in June 2020.
Prior to Vlocity, David worked on the Founding Executive Team and as Executive Vice President at Siebel Systems, a pioneering company in the customer relationship management (CRM) software space. He helped build the company from an idea to a public company of 8,000 people and $2 billion in revenue before it was acquired by Oracle Corp.
Davids continues to serve as a strategic advisory board member for Genstar Capital, a leading private equity firm and helped found their software practice. He also served as COO and as an advisory board member for C3.ai, a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and on the board of directors for Inxeption, a fast-growing ecommerce software provider, as well as TravelClick, a leading hospitality software company.
David is passionate about the importance of education and serves today on the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Science Dean’s Advisory Cabinet and supports and hosts events with Harvard students engaged with the Rock Center for Entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School. He also served on the board of trustees of Town School for Boys and The Hamlin School, both independent schools in San Francisco and served for three years as the Chair of the Board of Trustees at Hamlin.
